Social media consultant
EducateUS is building a movement of voters laser-focused on advancing progressive sex education policy and implementation across the country. We believe that universal sex education can change the world.
EducateUS is seeking a Consultant to work 20 hours per month managing our social media content and building organizational capacity for success online. The consultant is responsible for managing the creation, planning, writing and publishing of social media content across EducateUS’s social media channels including (but not limited to) Instagram, LinkedIn and Bluesky. This consultant will be responsible for reaching and growing target audiences using a voice that meets our key audiences where they are, and will create and experiment with engaging content, using data to measure success and adapt tactics and strategies.
Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Produce high-impact content in alignment with EducateUS’s organizational values and brand standards
- Oversee and guide work by the Program Assistant through the full content creation process – which includes brainstorming, ideation, drafting, execution, scheduling and reporting.
- Develop and manage the execution of strategies for growing EducateUS’s audience, followers and engagement across our channels.
- Manage analytics for social media channels and report out on performance to key internal and external stakeholders, while making suggestions for improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent editing and writing development skills. You have experience helping others write and develop concise, emotionally impactful and clear copy for complex topics.
- Extensive knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in social channels including but not limited to Instagram, BlueSky and LinkedIn with a proven track record of understanding and testing new product features on social media platforms. You have an In-depth knowledge of social platforms, social algorithms, and know the ins and outs of community management. You have a minimum two years of experience as a content strategist.
- Strong project management and collaboration: You take initiative. You’re highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to multi-task, and work under limited supervision. You possess a positive attitude and identify creative solutions to obstacles. You’re a pro at remote communication, and you’re not afraid to ask questions to meet the end goal.
- Innovative and results-oriented: You use data to test, track, and meet organizational goals. You thrive in an environment that requires constant learning and experimentation.
- Passion for our mission: You’re excited to support a growing organization building an intergenerational, multiracial movement for sex education.
- Engaged with popular and political culture: You’re constantly learning about current events, pop culture and politics and know how to translate critical cultural moments into compelling content that connects to the fight for sex education.
- Commitment to gender equity, racial justice, and economic equality. You’re passionate about the transformational potential of universal sex education.
Payment:
- $700 per month ($35 per hour, for 20 hours per month). This is a contract position and is not eligible for benefits.
